1. Am I a good candidate, and what decides my plan?
No two implant cases are the same. One patient needs a single implant for one missing tooth; another needs several implants, implant-supported crowns, or a full arch. Some also need an extraction, a bone graft or a staged healing period first.
What decides the plan is your bone volume, gum health, oral hygiene, bite, smoking habits and general health. That is why a good plan starts with an assessment, not a package. Send recent photos and a panoramic X-ray if you have one; we take a panoramic X-ray for every patient at the clinic, and when the case needs 3D planning, a 3D CBCT scan for implant planning is evaluated by our dentists.
A clinic that tells you honestly when you need a staged plan, or when implants are not the right choice, is focusing on the long-term result rather than on starting quickly. The plan should also cover function, not only looks: comfortable chewing, a stable bite and teeth you can keep clean.
2. Why should the plan come before the price?
Most patients ask about price first. The better first question is how the treatment will be planned. The number of implants, the type of restoration, whether grafting is needed and how long healing takes all change the final figure.
A quote given without photos or an X-ray can only be a guess. When a clinic talks only about a fast price and does not explain the steps, planning is probably not getting enough attention. A low starting price tells you nothing about what is included or how carefully the case was assessed.
How we quote: you send photos or an X-ray; messages are usually answered within 4 hours, and a written quote usually follows within 24 hours after the photos/X-ray arrive. Unless the treatment plan changes, the written price does not change. There is no separate fee for the consultation, and no deposit is required for treatment.
3. Which implant system will you use, and why?
This is the right question to ask any clinic. We work with 8 implant systems: Straumann, Neodent, Medentika, Nucleoss, Osstem, Camlog, SIN and Nobel Biocare. The system is chosen for your bone, the position of the implant and your budget, and it is named in your written quote before surgery.
Wherever you are treated, look for:
- implants from manufacturers with published long-term clinical data;
- systems with a wide international supply of parts, so a dentist at home can service them;
- a written record of the exact system, size and LOT number placed in your mouth.
At our clinic that record is the manufacturer’s international implant passport in English, given to every implant patient whether they ask or not. It carries the original implant, abutment, membrane and bone-graft labels (brand, diameter, length, LOT and REF numbers), the tooth positions, the insertion torque values and short treatment notes, signed and stamped by the dentist. If a clinic will not name the brand until you arrive, or cannot explain why it chose that system for your case, treat it as a warning sign.
4. One trip or two? How long will I stay in Antalya?
For most implant cases the honest answer is two trips, not one. The implant has to fuse with the bone (osseointegration) before the final teeth go on. Standard healing is about 3 months, planned individually; with bone grafting or an open sinus lift it is about 6 months on average.

In full-arch cases you leave the first trip with a fixed temporary bridge, so you are not without teeth during healing. Be cautious of offers of “permanent teeth in a few days” for every patient: fitting a heavy final bridge before the implants have integrated raises the risk of failure. 5. When can I fly home after implant surgery?
Sooner than many patients expect, but it depends on what was done.

6. What will it cost, including everything?
An honest all-in figure needs your X-ray. What we can give before that is a transparent starting price per treatment. Our 2026 prices:

7. What does the guarantee cover, and what doesn’t it?
Most clinics advertise a guarantee. What matters is the written terms: what exactly is covered, on what conditions, and how a claim works. Ours, word for word:
Guarantee terms: 10-year fracture guarantee on Amann Girrbach zirconia crowns and bridges made at our partner lab; 5-year clinic guarantee on crowns and bridges in other materials; 5-year guarantee on E.max veneers against fracture/debonding; manufacturer lifetime guarantee on the implant fixture; all conditional on recommended check-ups; covers the prosthesis, not the root canal/filling under it; biological caveat (smoking, uncontrolled diabetes, gum health; a fixture guarantee does not mean every implant integrates).
- Check-up condition: once a year (±2 months of the treatment anniversary), at our clinic in Antalya (no fee) or at any licensed dentist in your country. For a home check-up you send a panoramic X-ray (plus a periapical X-ray for implants, if taken), 5 standard intra-oral photos and the dentist’s note or invoice; Dr. Ali Cem Ulubey or Dr. Surur Ulubey reviews them within 7 days and confirms in writing.
- Missed check-up: the guarantee is paused, not cancelled; a catch-up check-up within 3 months restores it, unless a problem caused by the gap has developed.
- If something breaks: report it within 30 days of noticing it. The remake is done at Ulubey at no treatment cost; travel and hotel are paid by the patient.

What no dentist can guarantee: long-term implant success also depends on things no dentist controls: smoking, uncontrolled diabetes, gum health and regular maintenance. In a large meta-analysis, 6.35% of implants placed in smokers failed, compared with 3.18% in non-smokers [3]. Not attending regular maintenance after implant treatment is a well-documented risk factor for peri-implantitis [4]. Be wary of a blanket headline such as “10-year implant guarantee” without written terms.
8. What happens if something goes wrong after I get home?
Patients are often too polite to ask this. It is the most important question on the list. Our answer has three parts:
- Records: you leave with the implant passport, and on request we send your home dentist any record: panoramic and periapical X-rays, surgical notes, and the implant brand, model and LOT/serial numbers.
- Follow-up: we send WhatsApp check-ins at 30, 90 and 365 days after treatment; WhatsApp +90 540 324 00 04 is answered seven days a week, usually within 4 hours.
- Your dentist at home: please tell us in writing before another dentist restores or changes our work; this is a condition of the guarantee. If a fixture fails, the clinic can arrange the replacement through the manufacturer.

9. Can I talk to my dentist in my own language?
Clinical conversations in your own language reduce misunderstandings about pain, the treatment plan and consent. Our dentists speak English, Turkish, Persian (Farsi) and Azerbaijani Turkish directly. Dr. Surur Ulubey is a native Persian speaker, so Persian-speaking patients discuss their plan with her without an interpreter; see dental implants for Iranian patients. We do not have an interpreter; when needed, our patient coordinator helps with communication. For Russian or Arabic, an interpreter can be called in when needed.

10. Will the same dentist treat me from start to finish?
Quick answer: There is no official ranking of the best implant dentist in Antalya, so check what you can verify: who places the implant, their training, which implant system is named in your written quote, whether you receive the manufacturer’s implant passport, and who follows you up at home. 11. How do I check reviews and real cases?
Read reviews for what patients say about communication, planning, comfort and how they were treated, not only the star rating. 12. What do patients most often regret not asking?

What is the success rate of dental implants?
Studies usually report survival, meaning the implant is still in place. A 2019 systematic review in the Journal of Dentistry estimated 10-year implant survival at 96.4%, or 93.2% in a stricter sensitivity analysis. A 2024 meta-analysis of the few 20-year studies found 88–92% of implants still in place, or 78% when patients lost to follow-up were accounted for. Smoking, gum disease and poor maintenance lower these figures, so your own risk depends on your health and aftercare.
Is it safe to get dental implants in Turkey?
Safety depends on the clinic, not the country. Check the clinic’s Ministry of Health authorisation, the named implant systems, a written plan, written guarantee terms and a follow-up plan.
