Who Whitening Suits, and Who Should Wait
We check suitability at the examination and tell you before treatment if whitening is unlikely to work well for you.
Adults with healthy teeth and gums
Whitening is for patients aged 18 and over. Decay and gum disease are treated first.
Natural teeth only
Crowns, veneers and fillings keep their colour. If you plan new crowns or veneers, whitening first gives a lighter shade to match them to.
Deep internal staining
Staining from tetracycline or fluorosis may respond less. If your teeth are unlikely to respond well, we tell you before treatment.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Manufacturers advise against whitening during pregnancy and breastfeeding, so we wait until afterwards.
Sensitivity: What to Expect
In our experience so far, most patients report little or no sensitivity with Philips Zoom or Opalescence. Temporary sensitivity is a known side effect of whitening, and some patients do feel it during or after treatment. We protect your gums during the session and explain how to manage sensitivity at home. If you ask for it, a desensitising varnish on both arches costs €30 when it is applied in the same session as your whitening.
After Whitening: White Diet and Keeping the Result
For at least 3 days after whitening, follow a “white diet”: avoid strongly coloured food and drinks such as coffee, tea, red wine, cola, dark sauces and berries, and do not smoke. How long the result lasts depends on your diet, smoking and how you look after your teeth; we explain your aftercare before you leave.
Use the NiteWhite home kit for the full 6 days as shown at the clinic (Philips Zoom).
Keep your trays in the storage case.
Keep up regular check-ups and professional cleaning, at Ulubey or with your dentist at home.
Whitening During a Holiday in Antalya
Both options take one clinic visit, so whitening fits easily into a holiday. Walk-in patients (no appointment) are welcome Monday to Saturday, 09:00–19:00; to be sure of a whitening slot on a particular day, message us on WhatsApp first with your hotel name and dates. There is no flight restriction after whitening. If you are having crowns made, whitening is done while the crowns are in the lab, so it does not lengthen your stay.
