Dental Implants in Turkey for Americans: Cost, Trips and Aftercare
Dental implants in Turkey for Americans: at Ulubey Dental in Antalya, an implant starts at €300 (Nucleoss, standard abutment included), plus €185 for a zirconia crown. You can pay in US dollars at the live exchange rate, at the clinic, and no deposit is required for treatment. Most cases need two trips about 3 months apart, planned individually after we review your panoramic X-ray. There is no separate fee for that assessment.
Our pages appear in more Google searches from the USA than from any other country, and the same questions come up every time: what does it really cost, how many times do I have to fly, and who looks after my implant when I’m back home? This guide answers those questions plainly, with our own prices, a dated US price source, and the parts of the plan that depend on your X-ray.
1. What dental implants in Turkey cost at our clinic
Our prices are set in euros. The implant price includes the implant and a standard abutment; the crown is priced separately. You can pay in US dollars, euros, British pounds or Turkish lira at the live exchange rate on the day. The dollar equivalents are shown on our full price list in euros, dollars and pounds.
| Item | Price (EUR) | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Nucleoss implant | €300 | Standard abutment included |
| Osstem implant | €350 | Standard abutment included |
| Neodent implant | €400 | Straumann Group; standard abutment included |
| Medentika implant | €550 | Straumann Group; standard abutment included |
| Straumann BLT implant | €800 | Standard abutment included |
| Straumann BLX implant | €1,000 | Standard abutment included |
| Zirconia crown | €185 | Amann Girrbach zirconia |
| E.max crown | €250 | Ivoclar IPS e.max |
| Bone graft | €150 per cc | Only if your X-ray shows it is needed |
| Membrane | €150 | Only if needed |
| Full arch (All-on-4 / All-on-6) | Per arch | See our full-mouth implant cost guide |
There is no separate fee for the consultation. Multi-unit abutments, used in some full-arch cases, cost extra. Your written quote names the implant brand and the materials.
So a single back tooth with a Nucleoss implant and a zirconia crown comes to €485 before any grafting. For your own case, try the single implant cost calculator.
2. How that compares with US prices
We only print a US figure when it comes from a named, dated source. The most recent one we found is a survey by Dr. Steve L. Koo and Julie Mai, published in Dental Economics on February 1, 2026. In September 2025, they surveyed 278 dental practices by telephone in six metropolitan areas. [2]
| Area or group | Median price (USD) |
|---|---|
| All practices surveyed | $4,000 |
| Performed by a specialist | $3,400 |
| Performed by a general dentist | $4,800 |
| Lowest city median (Houston) | $3,665 |
| Highest city median (Minneapolis) | $5,505 |
Source: Koo SL, Mai J. Dental Economics, Feb 1, 2026. Telephone survey of 278 practices in Houston, San Francisco, Chicago, Minneapolis, Denver and Philadelphia. It is a six-city snapshot, not a national fee schedule. Houston gave the largest share of answers (the other cities about 30 each), and the article does not say which implant brands or crown materials were priced.
We deliberately do not print a “% cheaper” figure. Exchange rates move, and an honest comparison has to add flights, hotel nights, time off work and the second trip, which differ for every patient. Compare a written quote from us with a written quote from your local dentist, both based on your own X-ray.
Whatever you decide, the American Dental Association’s advice applies here too: you should first be examined and then hear about the full range of options, and keeping healthy natural teeth is always part of that conversation. [3]
3. How many trips you need
For single or multiple implants, the usual plan is two trips:
- Trip 1: assessment and implant placement. We examine you and take a panoramic X-ray. If you are ready, the implant is placed. Most patients can fly home 24–48 hours after a single implant; after a bone graft or a complex surgical extraction about 48 hours, after a closed sinus lift 3–5 days and after an open (lateral) sinus lift 5–7 days.
- Healing at home: about 3 months. The implant fuses with the bone. About 6 months on average if bone grafting or an open sinus lift is needed. The exact time is planned individually and confirmed after we have seen your X-ray.
- Trip 2: the crown. We take a digital scan (Dentsply Sirona Primescan), and the crown is made and fitted.
For a single implant the first trip is usually 4–5 days and the second (the crown) 3–5 days; we confirm the days in your written plan. Our guide on how long to stay in Antalya explains the planning. Full-arch All-on-4 and All-on-6 are also done in two visits: about 4 nights for the surgery and temporary bridge, then about 5–6 nights for the permanent bridge.
4. Getting to Antalya from the US
You fly into Antalya Airport (AYT). Compare routings with your airline or travel agent; connecting in Istanbul and taking a domestic flight to Antalya is one option. Our clinic is about 12 km, or roughly 15 minutes by car, from the airport, depending on traffic. It is near the Lara hotels and about 300 m from Düden Park, with a pharmacy right next door.
- Airport transfer and hotel: included in full treatment plans (All-on-4, All-on-6, full smile design, full zirconia, full veneers, full e.max crowns). For a single implant they are available at extra cost. Either way, it is confirmed in your written quote.
- Where to stay: when a hotel is part of your plan, we accommodate patients from abroad at the hotel in the building next door.
- Entry rules: check the current entry requirements for US passport holders with the U.S. Department of State before you book.
- Health before travel: the CDC suggests medical tourists “consult a travel medicine specialist for travel advice tailored to their specific health needs and destination 4–6 weeks before travel.” [1]
For everything else (seasons, getting around, what to pack) see our Antalya dental travel guide.
5. Aftercare back home
This is the part American patients worry about most, and rightly so. The CDC advises medical tourists “to request copies of their overseas medical records in English and to provide this information to any healthcare professionals they see subsequently for follow-up.” [1] Before you fly home, ask us for:
- copies of your X-rays;
- the implant system and size, and the crown material (your written quote already names the brand and materials);
- a fit-to-fly letter in English, if your airline or insurer asks for one (available on request).
Can a US dentist look after it? Routine care (cleaning, checking the gum and bite, X-rays) can be done by any dentist. Replacement parts, such as a new abutment screw, depend on the implant system. Before treatment, ask your US dentist which implant systems they can get parts for, and tell us. We can take that into account when we choose the system with you.
Staying in touch: send photos, or an X-ray from your local dentist, on WhatsApp. Messages are usually answered within 4 hours, seven days a week, and we check in with you on WhatsApp at 30, 90 and 365 days after treatment. Anything urgent, such as swelling, fever or bleeding that does not stop, should be seen by a local dentist or doctor straight away.
Active gum disease, heavy smoking, poorly controlled diabetes, some medications and some medical conditions can change the plan or the timing. Long flights soon after surgery are not suitable for every patient either. That is why we assess your X-ray and medical history before you book anything. If an implant is not the best option for you, we will say so. For an independent view on risks, read is dental tourism in Turkey safe.
6. Paying, insurance and HSA/FSA
- Payment: cash, card or bank transfer, in USD, EUR, GBP or TRY at the live exchange rate. You pay at the clinic for the treatment done at each visit.
- Deposit: no deposit is required for treatment.
- Written quote: unless the treatment plan changes, the written price does not change.
- Financing: we do not offer credit or installment plans.
- Insurance: we have no contracts with insurers, so we cannot bill a US dental plan directly. Ask your insurer before you travel whether they reimburse treatment abroad, and what paperwork they need.
- HSA/FSA: IRS Publication 502 (2025) lets you include “the amounts you pay for the prevention and alleviation of dental disease” as medical expenses (teeth whitening is excluded). [4] HSA and FSA rules build on this definition but work differently. An FSA pays only for expenses its plan covers, so ask the plan before you travel whether it reimburses treatment done abroad and which receipts it needs. With an HSA, you are responsible for keeping records that show each withdrawal paid for a qualified medical expense. [4] If in doubt, ask a tax professional. This is not tax advice.
7. How to check a clinic before you book
The CDC advises medical tourists to research the facility and the healthcare professional before committing to care abroad. [1] For a Turkish clinic, you can check these points yourself:
- Is the clinic listed on HealthTürkiye, the official health-tourism portal run by USHAŞ under the Turkish Ministry of Health? Ours is listed as “Dt. Ali Cem Ulubey Muayenehanesi”, authorization number ST-6000. [5]
- Do you know which dentist will treat you, by name, before you travel?
- Does the written quote name the implant brand and the crown material?
- Has a dentist looked at your X-ray before quoting?
Our longer checklist is in our dental tourism safety guide. UK readers can compare costs in our Turkey vs UK implant cost guide.
8. Our guarantees
- Implant fixture: the manufacturer’s lifetime guarantee on the implant fixture.
- Zirconia crowns: a 10-year fracture guarantee on Amann Girrbach zirconia made at our partner lab.
- Other crown materials: a 5-year clinic guarantee.
All guarantees are conditional on attending the recommended check-ups. Crown guarantees cover the crown against fracture. No guarantee covers biology: smoking, uncontrolled diabetes and gum health affect every implant. For the long-term evidence, 10-year implant survival in a 2019 systematic review was 96.4%. [6]
9. Who will treat you
Ulubey Dental is a two-dentist clinic: Dr. Ali Cem Ulubey and Dr. Surur Ulubey, both DDS graduates of Çukurova University. The same two doctors plan, treat and follow up your case, without rotating dentists. Both work with international patients in English; Dr. Surur’s spoken English is conversational and near-fluent.
- A panoramic X-ray on our Vatech unit for every patient; a 3D CBCT scan for implant planning, evaluated by our dentists, when 3D imaging is needed.
- We measure implant stability; computer-guided surgery is used when indicated.
- A fully digital crown workflow with Dentsply Sirona Primescan, and Amann Girrbach zirconia from our partner laboratory.
- The clinic is on the ground floor and is wheelchair accessible.

10. Frequently asked questions
Is it worth going to Turkey for dental implants from the US?
It can be, if the total cost (treatment, flights, hotel, time off and two trips) is still clearly lower than your local quote, and you have a plan for check-ups at home. A September 2025 survey of 278 practices in six US cities found a $4,000 median for implant, abutment and crown. Here an implant with a standard abutment and a zirconia crown costs €485 to €1,185, depending on the system, before any grafting. Compare written quotes, not headlines.
How many trips do I need?
For most single or multiple implants, two: one to place the implants and one, after about 3 months of healing (about 6 months if bone grafting or an open sinus lift is needed), to fit the crowns. The first trip is usually 4–5 days and the second 3–5 days, confirmed in your written plan. Full-arch All-on-4 and All-on-6 also take two visits: about 4 nights, then about 5–6 nights.
Can my US dentist maintain a Turkish implant?
Routine maintenance (cleaning, checking the gum and bite, X-rays) can be done by any dentist. Replacement parts depend on the implant system, so ask your dentist which systems they can get parts for before treatment, and tell us. We name the implant brand and materials in your written quote, so your dentist can identify them later.
Can I pay in US dollars?
Yes. We accept US dollars, euros, British pounds and Turkish lira at the live exchange rate on the day, by cash, card or bank transfer. Our list prices are set in euros. We do not offer credit or installment plans; you pay at the clinic for the treatment done at each visit.
Is there a deposit?
No deposit is required for treatment. You book your own flight and pay at the clinic for the procedures done. Where hotel and transfer are included, this is confirmed in your written quote. Before you book anything, we review your panoramic X-ray and photos and send a written quote, usually within 24 hours.
What if something goes wrong after I fly home?
Message us on WhatsApp. Messages are usually answered within 4 hours, seven days a week. Send photos and, if possible, an X-ray from a local dentist so we can advise you. Urgent problems such as swelling, fever or bleeding should be seen by a local dentist or doctor straight away. Our guarantees are conditional on attending the recommended check-ups.
Send us your panoramic X-ray and a few photos on WhatsApp. Dr. Ali Cem Ulubey or Dr. Surur Ulubey will review them. Messages are usually answered within 4 hours; a written quote usually follows within 24 hours of receiving your X-ray or photos.
