Dental Implants in Antalya: 10 Questions Patients Ask

Most of the dental implants Antalya questions patients send to our clinic before booking are not the ones our website answers. They are the practical, slightly worried, very-real questions you only think to ask after you’ve seriously committed to the idea of travelling to Antalya for treatment.

I keep a notebook at my desk where I jot down the questions that come up repeatedly on WhatsApp and in first consultations. This article is that notebook, written out properly. If you are considering dental implants in Antalya — at our clinic or anywhere else — these are the ten questions worth asking, and the honest answers I give my own patients.

If you want a strategic overview of the implant treatment process from start to finish, see our guide to dental implants in Antalya. This article is the practical companion — the questions you ask after you’ve read that guide.

10 questions worth asking before dental implants in Antalya

1. “Will I really get teeth in one trip, or do I need to come back?”

The honest answer for full-arch cases is two visits, not one. Many Turkish dental tourism pages promise “same-day permanent teeth in 10 days” — this is not how the biology of osseointegration works for full-arch treatment. Fitting a heavy permanent zirconia bridge before implants have fully integrated with your bone increases the risk of failure.

Our approach: place the implants and fit a screw-retained temporary bridge on Visit 1 so you leave the clinic with fixed teeth. You wear the temporary through 3 months of healing (lower jaw) or 4 months (upper jaw). Visit 2 — 5-6 working days — is when we fit the definitive zirconia bridge. Full timeline in our how long to stay in Antalya guide.

2. “What implant brand will you use, and why?”

This is the right question to ask any clinic. We use internationally recognised implant systems — the same brands placed in UK private practice and German clinics. Common choices include Straumann (Swiss premium), Osstem (Korean, excellent value with published long-term data), Neodent, and Nobel Biocare. The brand selection is part of your treatment plan and is documented in writing before surgery.

What you should look out for, anywhere in the world:

  • Implants from manufacturers with published long-term clinical data (10+ year studies)
  • Brands with global supply chains, so replacement parts are available wherever you live
  • A documented, signed record of which brand and which exact specification was placed

If a clinic refuses to tell you the brand until you arrive, that is a warning. If they cannot explain why they chose that brand for your case, that is also a warning.

3. “How long will I actually be in Antalya?”

For a standard All-on-4 or All-on-6 case: Visit 1 is 4-5 working days, Visit 2 is 5-6 working days, separated by 3-4 months of healing at home. Total clinic time: 9-11 working days spread across two trips.

Single-implant cases are more flexible — some can be completed in a single 5-7 day visit with immediate loading; others follow the two-visit protocol. If bone grafting or sinus lift is needed, Visit 1 may extend by a day and the healing period at home may extend to 4-6 months.

4. “Can I fly home immediately after surgery?”

Medically, flying 48-72 hours after standard implant surgery is safe for most patients. Pressurised cabins do not affect osseointegration. We build a 2-3 day recovery buffer into Visit 1 so you fly home well after the immediate post-op window. After sinus lift specifically, wait 7-10 days before flying.

5. “What if something goes wrong after I get home?”

This is the question patients are often too polite to ask. It is the most important one.

For our clinic the answer has three parts:

  1. Documentation: Your full digital record — scans, surgery notes, brand and lot numbers — is sent to you on a USB drive or via secure cloud. Any local dentist anywhere in the world can read these.
  2. Remote follow-up: Scheduled WhatsApp check-ins at 30, 90, and 365 days. We adjust earlier if you have any concern.
  3. Coordination: If you need a local intervention (emergency or otherwise), we coordinate with a local dentist directly — confirming protocols, sending design files, and where appropriate covering minor adjustment costs under our warranty terms.

Ask any clinic this question before booking. The quality of the answer tells you a great deal about the clinic.

6. “How much will it cost — including everything?”

Quoting an “all-in” number without seeing your imaging is not honest. Quoting a transparent range based on the procedure type is. For Antalya in 2026, our current pricing:

TreatmentUlubey Dental (Antalya)UK private
Single implant + zirconia crown£550 – £650£2,500 – £4,500
All-on-4 (per arch)£1,850 – £2,000£12,500 – £15,000
All-on-6 (per arch)£2,900 – £3,100£15,000 – £18,000
Full mouth (All-on-4 both arches)£6,200 – £6,800£25,000 – £36,000

For UK patients, this is approximately 75–85% lower than equivalent UK private treatment with the same materials. For a detailed cost breakdown by market, see our dental implants Turkey vs UK cost guide.

Hotels and flights are quoted separately, on purpose: clinical pricing should not be bundled into travel pricing, otherwise you cannot easily compare clinics.

7. “Do you offer a guarantee?”

Most reputable Turkish clinics offer some form of guarantee on implants and prosthetics. The structure varies — typically:

  • Implant: long-term warranty against fixture failure (often 10 years to lifetime, depending on brand)
  • Prosthetic bridge: warranty period typically 5 years for zirconia, shorter for acrylic
  • Conditions: regular hygiene maintenance, no smoking exceeding agreed limits, no traumatic loading

What matters is not the headline number (“lifetime guarantee!”) but the written terms — what exactly is covered, under what conditions, and how a claim is processed. Ask for these terms in writing before you commit. Our warranty terms are in your treatment file before surgery begins.

8. “Will I be able to communicate properly during treatment?”

For most patients, yes. We see patients from the UK, Germany, Iran, the Netherlands, and Scandinavia. Clinical conversations happen in English; Surur sees Persian-speaking patients in Persian directly, which matters more than people realise — clinical conversations in your first language reduce misunderstandings about pain levels, treatment plans, and consent.

If you need a language we do not cover clinically, ask in advance. We can usually arrange professional medical interpretation for the consultation phase.

9. “What’s the difference between a small clinic like yours and a big chain?”

Honest answer: continuity. In a smaller clinic, you see the same dentists from your first message to your final fitting. In some larger clinics, you may meet a consultant on day one, a different surgeon for the procedure, and a third dentist for follow-up.

Both models can deliver good clinical outcomes. The question is what matters to you. For complex cases, full mouth restoration, or patients who prefer one consistent point of contact, smaller boutique clinics tend to fit better. For straightforward single-implant cases, the model matters less.

Ask the clinic directly: “Will the dentist who sees me at consultation also be the one who places my implants and fits the final prosthesis?” The answer tells you which model they run. Our full framework for evaluating a Turkish dental clinic is in the choosing the right dental clinic in Antalya guide.

10. “What is the one thing patients regret most?”

The question I most often hear in retrospect is: “I wish I had asked for the smile design preview before I committed.” Or for implant patients: “I wish I had asked which exact implant brand I was getting.”

Both regrets are about information that was available but not requested. Take your time. Ask the awkward questions. Get answers in writing. A clinic that handles your detailed questions patiently before you book will handle your treatment patiently afterwards. A clinic that rushes you through is showing you how it will treat you when you are paying.

The other common regret — specifically for cosmetic combination cases — is not having asked about the smile design vs veneers options before committing to a full veneer package when a more conservative plan would have worked.

Have a question that isn’t on the list?

If you have a question that isn’t covered here, send it. I read every WhatsApp message that comes to the clinic personally for international cases — usually within a few hours. There is no minimum information required to start a conversation. A photo of your smile, a brief description of what you are looking for, and we’ll go from there.
